HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Course Overview | This workshop is a comprehensive training program designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response in various settings, including the workplace, home, and community.
By the end of the course, learners will be confident in their ability to treat and stabilise injured, ill, or unconscious individuals.
This course is delivered and assessed in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, other Australian national peak clinical body guidelines, and relevant CSNSW policies and procedures.

Course Outcomes |
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to provide a first aid response in various situations, including:- Managed, in line with ARC guidelines, dealing with an unconscious casualty.
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on an adult and infant casualty
- Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Management of non-life-threatening bleeding and shock
- Choking
- Asthma
- Anaphylaxis
- Envenomation, using a pressure immobilisation bandage
- Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, using appropriate immobilisation techniques
- Minor wound cleaning and dressing
- Nose bleeds

Open to all Correctional Officers and staff identified as requiring these skills. |
