CSC30120 Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial)
Correctional Officer Training
Successful completion of this entry level course is the first step for all Custodial staff taking up employment as Correctional Officers, Overseers and Casual Correctional Officers, within Corrective Services NSW.
This training program will commence with the initial face-to-face Primary Training completed over a 9 week period which includes the CSNSW Induction Program completed on the first day of training. Completion of this primary training component demonstrates your capacity to take up custodial duties in a correctional environment. Sessions include the key result areas of Organisational Administration and Management, Safety and Security, Offender Management, Weapons and Officer Survival and Escorting of Offenders.
Following Primary training you will be required to complete a number of on-the-job assessments, within a designated time frame, and take up duties within the various Correctional Centres throughout New South Wales.
On successful completion of all required training and assessment requirements learners will be issued with CSC30120 Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial).
Course duration:
10 weeks face to face
Overall training program includes work based learning and assessment with a duration up to a maximum of 24 months.
