The Operational Management Training Unit provides a range of training courses which are open to staff in all areas of CSNSW. The focus of the unit is to provide staff with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills to work with offenders in reducing their offending behaviour.
The Operational Management Training Unit is responsible for entry level training for Custodial Case Management Officers. Custodial Case Management training was developed to support staff appointed to a role within a Case Management Unit. This program will enhance the skills, knowledge and abilities to case managers to effectively fulfil all duties of the role. Staff will receive a range of operationally specific training that will assist in their day to day duties. The Custodial Case Management training program has been developed to suit the specific operational duties of case managers and to provide staff with the opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of the newly developed Case Management Policy for Correctional Centres and the relevant Procedures.
The Operational Management Training Unit also offers a range of short courses for more experienced officers and staff of CSNSW working with offenders.
All training facilitators within the Operational Management Training Unit have industry training qualifications as well as extensive experience in Justice NSW. Our staff have a variety of backgrounds and areas of interest and work to ensure the currency and operational relevance of course content.
The Operational Management Training Unit is based at the Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy at Eastwood. Programs are delivered at the Academy and off site at correctional centres and office locations across the state.
