Australian Correctional Leadership Program

The Australian Correctional Leadership Program (ACLP) is presented by Corrective Services NSW on behalf of the Corrective Services Administrators’ Council (CSAC).

The ACLP is designed for senior correctional managers across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Participants are provided with an opportunity to:

  • Broaden their understanding of global trends in corrections
  • Enhance leadership abilities
  • Collaborate and network at a national and international level
  • Develop strategic thinking and analytical skills

Program Outline

The program focuses on three main learning themes:

  • Leadership
  • Best practice
  • Trending issues

The residential component of the program is five days in duration. This includes an intensive schedule of expert guest presenters and networking opportunities to discuss emerging issues and current research around the main themes.

ACLP speakers include Corrective Services administrators, leading academics and expert practitioners.

Target Audience

Senior management (custodial and noncustodial) identified as being in a position of strategic influence within their organisation from Australia and across the Asia-Pacific Region.

Nominations

CSAC members will be invited to nominate up to two participants to attend the program, and a further two nominations for the reservation list should positions become available.

Selection Criteria

  • Senior managers (custodial and non-custodial) identified as being in a position of strategic influence within their organisations from Australia and across the Asia Pacific region. 
  • Clerk Grade 11/12 (or custodial rank equivalent) and above.
  • Participants are nominated by CSAC members from each correctional jurisdiction.

Program cost

Cost of the program is AUD$5,000 excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST). The cost includes:

  • Program fee
  • Enrolment in the Advanced Diploma of Correctional Management at Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy
  • Onsite accommodation in executive suites
  • A comprehensive menu organised especially for the program by the Brush Farm Catering Team, including a formal dinner
  • Access to all facilities including a well-equipped gym
  • Administrative support.
