Suicide is a concern in the community. In order to accurately assess an individual's risk of suicide you have to know how and when to intervene. This course aims to provide learners with the appropriate skills and knowledge to provide sensitive and effective intervention to individuals who are at risk of suicide.
Learners will be required to complete an online prerequisite component prior to attending the face to face training day.
Completion of the prerequisite component and the face to face training will result in learners receiving a Statement of Training.
Learners who wish to gain the Unit of Competency CHCCCS003 Increase the safety of individuals at risk of suicide will need to complete the online assessment portfolio via the Learning Management System. On successful completion of all assessment tasks learners will be issued a Statement of Attainment in CHCCCS003 Increase the safety of individuals at risk of suicide from the CHC Community Services Training Package. Learners will have 12 weeks from confirmation of enrolment in the online assessment portfolio to complete and submit their assessment.
This course is delivered and assessed via blended learning, comprising of an online learning component and 1 day workshop. The course is virtual via MS Teams unless indicated near the scheduled course dates on this page.
