Community Corrections Officer (CCO) Primary Training

The aim of the CCO Primary Training course is to equip newly recruited officers with the skills and knowledge to be effective in their new role.

The initial course and workplace assessments cover interviewing skills, report writing, case management, risk assessment, case planning, parole requirements and skills to deal with different offender groups. Officers attend the 8 week face-to-face Community Corrections Officer Training at the Academyas well as a 4 week placement period. This is followed by up to 10 months of on-the-job training.

After successful completion of training and workplace assessment tasks, learners will be issued CSC40121 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice.

Note: This is an entry level course for new Community Corrections Officers only. Recruited officers only to enrol.​
