This course has been designed and developed to meet the needs of those who are required to provide an advanced first aid response. Participants will develop their ability to manage a range of complex situations whilst providing and co-ordinating the first aid response in the workplace or community settings. Topics covered include CPR, medical emergencies, triage, wound and injury management, spinal injury immobilisation, emergency childbirth, communications and management of a first aid response. By the end of the course you will be confident in the management, co-ordination and provision of an advanced first aid response until medical assistance arrives.
This course abides by the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines and CSNSW Policies and Procedures. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid.
