HLTAID005 Provide first aid in remote situations

Wilderness Remote Area First Aid

In a remote area, the first aider has a responsibility to provide initial care to the patient as well as ongoing monitoring and adjustment of care to maintain the patient's long term health and well-being.

This course aims to help its participants develop the skills required to successfully manage an emergency situation in remote settings.  It is held over 3 days in a remote location and requires participants to apply their First Aid skills to a number of remote area scenarios.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in the unit HLTAID005 Provide first aid in remote situations, in partial completion of  CSC30115 Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
