CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice
Course Outcomes | The course and workplace assessments cover
interviewing skills, behaviour change, risk assessment tools, case planning,
critical thinking, case management, report writing, parole requirements and
skills to work with the complex needs of offenders.

Entry requirements | Open to new Case Management Officers, Community Corrections
Officers and Services and Programs Officers only. Recruited officers only to
enrol.

Delivery Mode
| Blended – Face to face, virtual and online learning as well as in-class
and workplace assessments.
|
Learner Commitment | This course will require completion of the following; - 1-week of face-to-face Integrated Induction training at the CSNSW Academy;
- 3-weeks of Core Skills training at the CSNSW Academy;
- Workplace Learning Modules which includes workplace activities and self-directed learning in addition to attendance at several virtual training sessions;
- 8 days of Integrated Foundations training which covers topics such as domestic and family violence, alcohol and other drugs, understanding and preventing suicide, mental health awareness and disability inclusion.
Learners are provided with 12-months to complete all training and assessment requirements. This commences with Integrated Induction and Core Skills training at the CSNSW Academy. |
Work placement requirement
| Following the completion of Integrated Induction and Core Skills training learners are required to complete on the job training and workplace assessments prior to obtaining the CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice.

Assessment
| During the 4-week face-to-face training learners will complete in-class
assessments, followed by workplace assessments.
|
Award
| On successful completion of all training and assessment learners will be
issued CSC40122 Certificate
IV in Correctional Practice.
