Governance and Continuous Improvement (G&CI) will provide participants with an overview of the role of G&CI, the Operational Performance and Review Branch (OPRB) and Corrections Research Evaluations and Statistics (CRES).
The course examines the function of the OPRB and alignment with the role of the Functional Managers in performance monitoring, reporting against legislative requirements; CSNSW Policy and the Outcomes Specifications.
This face to face training will enable Functional Managers to understand the overarching framework used by the OPRB. Including the methodologies used by the OPRB to measure operational performance and monitor compliance, as well as the rules relating to KPI's and outcome specifications and performance regimes that form a key component of the
Better Prisons reform.
Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the methodologies for monitoring and reporting on operational performance
- Demonstrate an understanding of what they are being measured on
- Identify their performance targets
- Use available data to enhance operational outcomes
- Discuss outcome specifications and performance regimes
- Identify definitions and counting rules
- Demonstrate an understanding of the key performance characteristics of a correctional centre
- Demonstrate the functions of Tableau
